Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos)

The Day of the Dead has Aztec and Mesoamerican roots and is a prominent national holiday in Mexico.

Día de la Candelaria or Candlemas

Candlemas is a religious holiday that is celebrated with processions, dancing, bullfights in certain cities, and the blessing of the seeds and candles. The festivities are best seen in: San Juan de los Lagos, Jalapa; Talpa de Allende, Jalisco; and Santa Maria del Tuxla, Oaxaca.

Cinco de Mayo is a holiday that is celebrated in the Mexico and in the United States.

It celebrates the legendary battle of the Puebla. The holiday is most celbrated in the state of Puebla, Mexico.
